Shoulder Nights at the Doubletree are selling out!

    Posted: March 22, 2008

We have sold out our room block on Wednesday, April 23 and the convention rate is no longer available for that night. We have rooms available for the nights of April 24 through April 27. We were close to being sold out of the convention rate on April 28, and there may not be rooms available at the con rate on that night. Rooms for the three days before and after the convention at the convention rate are no longer available. There is a city wide conference in the week after CostumeCon and the Doubletree is close to being sold out for that conference. Dave,

    Shipping items to the hotel

    Posted: March 29, 2008

We've received word from our hotel representative on requirements for shipping items to the host hotel, the DoubleTree San Jose:

Packages can start arriving no earlier than 3 days prior to the event and can be held up to 3 days after your event without an extra charge.
They should be addressed to the Doubletree Hotel with the recipient's name & also Costume Con clearly labeled on the box. I have attached a copy of our Shipping & Receiving Charges form. You can have vendors complete this & send back to me before the event or we can complete all paperwork when people arrive & claim their boxes.

You may download the form referred to above using this link:

Note that there is also a UPS Store located inside the Doubletree; it's website may be found at

Reserve your room now for Costume-Con 26!

    Posted: January 22, 2008

Room reservations for Costume-Con 26 at the Doubletree San Jose are now open!

How to reserve your room for Costume-Con 26
Room rates are $92.00 for single through quad occupancy. You can to make reservations online at, or at Please use group code C26 to get the Costume-Con 26 rate. In addition, we will soon have a link from the Costume-Con website to our own personalized reservations page.

You can also make reservations by calling the Doubletree's toll free reservation number, 800-222-TREE (8733) or by calling the Doubletree San Jose directly at 408-453-4000 and mentioning Costume-Con 26.

Coming a couple of days early to go on the tours, or staying a few days after to explore the San Francisco bay area? In order to get the best rate, make sure to reserve all of your room nights at one time. If the room rate doesn't appear correctly on your reservation, don't worry about it, but do email to get your rate fixed.

    Special Room Blocking Requests
If you want your room blocked near someone else, please have that noted in the comments for your reservation and then email our hotel liaison Dave Gallaher at with your reservation number(s) and the rooms you want blocked together. Similarly, if you want a room on our party floor (the 2nd floor, in the wing near our Hospitality Suite), note it in the comments for your reservation, and email with your request.

There are (a very few) parlor suites available at the DoubleTree at our negotiated rate of $155. Most (not all) suites have a single king-size bed in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the parlor, with a second connecting bedroom available for the cost of the additional room. All of the suites are on the 9th and 10th (concierge) floors which have restricted access; in particular, there are no suites on the party floor. The rooms at the DoubleTree are quite large; you may find a pair of connecting guest rooms a reasonable alternative to a suite. The reservations system does not properly reflect our negotiated suite rate: if you want to reserve a suite, email Dave Gallaher at with your request; and he will handle them on a first-come, first-served basis.
