Important update to Costume-Con 26 Single Pattern Competition!

    Posted: July 24, 2007

In response to popular demand, the Costume-Con 26 Future Fashion Folio and Future Fashion Show directors have decided to return to the original format of the Single Pattern Competition, judging completed garments at the conference and incorporating them into the Sunday Fashion Show.

Designers who wish to submit designs to the Future Fashion Folio based on the patterns named before may still do so; those special categories are not being struck from the Folio rules.

As in past years, the Single Pattern Competition (SPC) will occur at the convention, with entries being displayed as finished, constructed garments to a panel of judges on-site. Bruce and Dana MacDermott, the Fashion Show directors, have elected to keep the original two patterns named by Folio director Karen Tullyfor the SPC: The Kontusz (Polish Coat) Pattern from Reconstructing History Patterns , and The Wellington Hat from Lynn McMasters. In addition, they will name a third pattern option after the Future Fashion Folio submission deadline has passed.

We believe our conference membership is large enough now to support both Future Fashion and the Single Pattern Contest in sufficient numbers to yield in a rich and interesting runway show for the audience.

Check further down on the Fashion Competitions page for complete rules.
